We recently provided subtitles for Team Theatres production, FOCAL POINT. We also shot a short promo video. Since translation is a major aspect of the piece we decided to have a little fun with the ever present surtitles.

Title animation provided by Craig Cox.

For the past few months Shoot To Kill has had it’s first intern Craig Cox. He has quickly established himself as a huge asset to the company, offering assistance in all aspects of production. Among other great work he has contributed visuals to Anglo the Musical and The Far Side and acted as second camera on a number of projects including the filming of St Theresas Gardens. An accomplished artist in his own right, check out some of his work here. Kil

Shoot To Kill wrapped up the final day of filming for Outlandish Theatres up coming documentary art piece on St Theresas Gardens.

Under the direction of Outlandish Theatre Platform Shoot to kill have been filming various residents of St Theresas Gardens since October 2012. The final documentary will be shown as part of a performance on March 9th.

Our first day of filming was the painting pink of five council houses due to be demolished, it was only fitting that our final day captured these buildings being demolished.

It has been great filming in this unique area of Dublin city. We’ve had many a cold morning among the flats in the past few months. Now it’s off to the edit to see what we’ve got. Kil

Shoot To Kill were asked to design video elements for Anglo the Musical in November last year. Daniel Keane took the reigns on this one with assistance from Craig Cox, designing impressive animations for a nine metre screen in The Bord Gais Energy Theatre. Anglo has just finished a second run in the Olympia theatre.

In December Shoot To Kill was commissioned to capture the Forest Fringe Microfestival. Multiple events happening in the Lír academy over the course of one night. We like to think we managed to capture the essence of the event. Kil

The Far Side

Under the guidance of artist Feidlim Cannon, The Far Side eschews the original archives and sees seven proud Droghedeans develop a contemporary, living history. The video performance explores the social history of the town through personal recollections of growing up and living in the town. The video is a real, sometimes surreal, re-presentation of the stories, memories and reminiscences the group have shared with each other over the last two years. Blending contemporary art-making with local, personal and popular heritage in a unique and unsentimental cocktail for the here and now. The global and the local collide through the prism of favourite TV shows, cinema and song celebrating a peoples’ history of themselves. The Far Side launched in the Droichead Arts Centre in November 2012 and Upstate Theatre Project hopes to tour the project during 2013. Follow the link to see some still images from the piece on the Shoot To Kill facebook page.
